Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Kids Camp

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team held a Kids Camp for 20 children 8 to 12 years old at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports complex last week.    We were honored to be asked to support the team and kids by providing on site prosthetic services and repairs.

Our goal is to make sure that a prosthetic device never holds someone back from doing anything they wish to achieve.

During the camp we were able to make some adjustments and repairs to keep the Team and the campers doing what they came to do…play softball!

To learn more about the camp, check out this video from CBS News.

Life Without A Limb Is Limitless!

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) is comprised of young, competitive, athletic veterans and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs post-9/11, while serving their country in the military/war. The WWAST partakes in several celebrity and exhibition charity games every year to raise awareness for wounded military veterans, modern prosthetics and to prove that life without a limb is limitless. Expanding on this mission, WWAST is hosting a softball Kids Camp for twenty children (between 8-12 years old) with amputations or missing limbs. Members of WWAST will provide expertise and instruction to all participants during the five day camp hosted at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in the middle of the magic at Walt Disney World® Resort.

Saunders Prosthetics & Orthotics Group was honored to be asked to help during the Kids Camp.  Brett Saunders, CPO, FAAOP, will be on site as the event prosthetist to provide assistance.
